Most people are familiar, or have at least heard of the “DNC” --Democratic National Committee. But, less people know about their state and local democratic committees. In Connecticut, the state committee establishes rules on how the members of a town’s democratic town committee will be selected and by when. Then, those town committee members are responsible for endorsing candidates to run for the State House and Senate.
This Thursday, I am presenting before the West Hartford Democratic Town Committee on my candidacy for State Representative and to seek their endorsement. The town committee won’t make an official endorsement until late May--a timeline established by the state committee, but they are currently hearing from candidates who are running for State Representative, State Senate, and various statewide offices like Attorney General and Treasurer.
If you are interested in learning more about the process and/or showing our campaign some support, I would love to have you join me this Thursday, February 15th from 7PM-9PM at the West Hartford Town Hall, Legislative Chamber, Room 314. All meetings are open to the public, they only ask that you introduce yourself at the beginning when prompted to do so. For more information, please contact our campaign. We are happy to help!
